Christmas in November

This weekend we went to the Festival of Trees at the Orlando Museum of Art. Instead of art, they had very cool Christmas displays. Mostly decorated trees with varying themes. They also had Christmas table settings and Gingerbread houses. Everything was for sale. Max got to meet and scream at Santa. They had carolers there. I requested "Freebird" but they did not know it.

For those people who know me, you know I love penguins. Nothing says Christmas like Penguins.

I tried licking it.

Max did his best to try and break every ornament.

This was the strangest part. I think they were a street gang. At first there were five or six of them but as time passed their numbers kept growing. They all wore red hats and purple outfits. I did not see them flashing any gang signs but we kept our distance anyway. "Once you're a Jet, you're always a Jet........"

You crack me up with the street gang! Those are Red Hat Society ladies, dude. They aren't a street gang unless caroling is a crime...which, well...

They are a gang. A very slow-driving gang.

LOVE the penguins. So cute!

Penguins at Christmas? Huh--aren't they from the South Pole--Santa's from the North Pole....

Cute "Street Gang"--gotta watch out for them!

Don't be hatin' the Red Hat Society. I'm not that many years away from membership. I can't decide if it's just freakin' ridiculous, or if it's just freakin' hilarious enough to be the absolute RIGHT thing to do. I have a few years to decide.

You had me at Freebird. I had to explain this "requesting Freebird thing" to LG recently when she heard this country song with the line, "He's on the dance floor yellin' FREEBIRD, singin' off key, but he knows every word..." about a redneck drunk (Billy). It's one of those love to hate it, but have to sing along songs.

This looks like a fun family outing. Excellent work.

What creates a street gang like the Red Hat Society ladies? It's the powers drawn from their RED hats and their BLUE hair. That's why their dresses are purple. :P
I heard that gang has been going from shindig to shindig, licking gingerbread houses! I wonder who could have given them that idea?! They are simply wild and out of control and must be stopped!

When I am fifty I shall wear purple with a red hat and roll with my homegirls in public places.

Poop & Boogies Meets the Red Hat Society. Be afraid...be very afraid. Keep your eye on Lauren..she's way too young for them now, but if she starts wearing pink and lavendar, you're in for it when she turns 50! Stacie

It's not too young for Lauren to be a Red-Hatter Wannabee. They make you wear a pink hat until you're fifty, so that's one of the biggest signs to watch for.

You gotta watch that Red Hat gang dude. Cuz when they roll (as in wheel chairs) they'll roll right over you. Usually because they don't see you. And it may take awhile.

PS, if I were a retired woman, I would join the Red Hat Society. But I'm a Mason instead.

Am I the only one who's never heard of the Red Had Society?

Seriously? They didn't know "Freebird"?! Well, eff 'em.

And I also share the penguin love. Oh, yes I DO. Unless you were kidding, in which case you totally suck. I mean, they're cool, they're sleek, and they're always dressed for a party! What's not to love?!

Penguins rule. They just do.

And watch out for the Red Hat Society.

Better dead than Red, my friend.

I love our Festival of Trees--it's nearer Thanksgiving--soon.

Have you seen Madagascar?! If you like penguins YOU MUST see it.

Love the penguins... and the Red Hatters. They rode with the Harley Club in our parade this year, one lady per leather-clad, long bearded, motorcylist. It rocked! :)

My mother is a Red Hat Society member, and I agree...they should be stopped.

I actually wrote a piece on them at my blog...come visit me!
