Pillow Talk

I am not sure what year my Godmother, Aunt Michelle, started this tradition, but I think I was maybe 14 or 15 when she gave me a pillow for Christmas. A nice, regular bed pillow.

Now you may find this weird or a strange holiday gift to receive but every year since then She would get me a new pillow. I think it is the perfect gift. Having a new pillow to sleep on every year is not something that I think is on the forefront of everyone’s mind to buy for your self. So receiving one every year at Christmas was such an excellent idea. She never really had to think about what to get me. No extensive shopping, no going to different stores. A pillow is all I wanted and it is what she would get me. I love getting a new pillow every year.

Lauren thought this was such a great idea. She was happy to receive the new pillows every year as well. We decided that this year we would continue the tradition that Aunt Michele started by getting Max’s Godparent’s Pillows for Christmas. Everyone could use a new pillow at least once a year. So if you ever get stuck trying to think about what to get someone for a Christmas gift or a birthday gift, think of Aunt Michele, and get them a pillow.

It is the gift that keeps on giving all year long.

Some friends of the family gave me and TGIM regular old pillows for a wedding present. Queen-sized. We absolutely LOVED them. Great idea!

Love it! Never thought of giving pillows, but it really is a good idea, My hubby LOVES getting new pillows, I'm pretty sure he's had one of every kind on the market right now. He would be a big fan of this idea too.
Thanks for sharing.

The pillow made me saved my neck last night!
My pillows seemed lumpy or something and couldn't get comfortable.

Like a little kid I flipped and flopped until I found Lauren's pillow and then finally got comfortable enough to sleep.

Pillows any time of the year is good :)

My Grandmother started a kitchen towel tradition. It took me a coupla years after she died to figure out I never had enough kitchen towels in the house because she wasn't sending them to me as gifts anymore~

What a great idea! Nobody ever thinks of the simple things in life, but they're usually the most appreciated! Love it! Stacie

Liam got his first pillow for Christmas. Santa might have started a tradition of his own...

Oh and Dunkin Donuts gift cards for the godparents...and anyone else we dont know what to buy for... just cause that's how we roll in New England. Coffee and Munchkins.

Oh and damn if I didn't just realized that we too got "pillowed" for Christmas. My parents gave Dan and I each one of those temperpedic pillows. I love a new pillow! SWEET.

I totally bought my mother-in-law one of those special memory foam pillows this year for Christmas! Of course, she asked for it. Now I want one.
