Don't Be Mad

Anytime a phone conversation between my wife and I starts with her saying "Don't be mad Bill, but..." usually ends up meaning I have a lot of work to do when I get home.

Don't be mad Bill, but I cut down all the dead branches from the Birch tree. I need you to clean them up when you get home.

Don't be mad Bill, but I re-landscaped the garden beds. I need you to move all the bricks when you get home.

Don't be mad Bill, but I decided to clean out the attic today. I need you to bring down all the trash and boxes when you get home.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my wife. I love my wife doing all of these projects, but sometimes I do get mad. Like the other day when she cleaned the garage, in preparation of our yard sale and put all the trash in one of the trashcans and asked me to bring it to the curb.

The trash can in the middle, the one that my wife filled, must have weighed 400 lbs. I think it gave me a hernia.

Hey- I worked HARD that day! The trash guy didn't complain, & I cleaned up the birch branches, so don't be tryin' to get sympathy for work that I did! MEN!

oh my gosh my trash guy is so lazy he wouldn't take that can. "The lid must close" he wrote on one of his nasty notes to me.

Your wife is awesome!!!

Is the first trash can filled with all of your shaven body hair?

LOL. I do the exact same thing to my husband. 'Honey, don't be mad...'.

Our garbage man doesn't even have to get out...they have a little lift on the side for the cans now.

Lauren deserves a SPA day.

Super Hero Bill wouldn't have had any problems moving that trash can. For heaven sakes, it has wheels!

You're falling to pieces man!

Lauren, I sympathize! Bill, don't be mad! I have some suspicious critter dirt in my laundry room, 3 of your brothers have investigated it, looked at it, one even measured it, one took a picture of it...but not one of them cleaned it up! That was a week ago! I'm recovering from a herniated disc and can't bend down(have bad knees also). I'm sure it will still be here when you get home from work. Guess Who

It's not rabbit dirt! But you do remember the rabbit, don't you? Be my hero again! Please....

If I were you, I'd just be thankful to be married to a woman who can do stuff like trim the birch branches and clean out the attic. I'd simply put the entire task on a list for my poor hubby.

Around here, "don't get mad" means something has been moved or relocated.

Yard work and the like are simply nagged about until done.

You lucky that you are not on the curb.
