patties!!

Patties - I don't like the "casing" that is on most links.

LINKS! They don't make the best gravy, but taste so much better than patties! If I were making sausage gravy, I would use the patties and have Dad eat them. Have links on the side for me. Too much of an answer for you? Miss you!

Links, for sure. Patties just don't look right on a breakfast plate.

links are the best!

Patties used to be links but I think more patties now!

Kami said...

Never thought about it. But I prefer the ones with less fat globules.

Anonymous said...

Spicy version of either, but a crisp patty is a real killer, equalled only by an upper end high meat content link.

So vote patty

Mmmmm.... sausage! The real answer?

BOTH!

(Yum.)

Patties if Im having a breakfast sandwich, links if Im having it as a side dish to pancakes and eggs.

Effie said...

patties when in a breakfast sandwich because they fit better, but when served with pancakes or fried/scrambled eggs it MUST be the little links--I love to dip mine in leftover syrup from the pancakes! Divine! Or just dunking in ketchup is a good thing.

Now I must go out and BUY some.

Cruel survey for pregnant women!

Now--how about bacon--do you like it REALLY crispy or just a little bit crispy??

Anonymous said...

Prefer Bacon, but If I had to pick one..PATTIES!

Links. Or bacon ;)

Links all the way1

Definitely links. Preferably maple flavored. Mmmm! Are you using this survey for your study at the Bob Evans Institute??

Anonymous said...

Hm - either really but they have to be the kind of links without the casing. I don't like the snap when you bite into them. Unless they are burnt crispy then it's ok.

Oh, and we used to call those sausage links "porkies" in our family.

Patties

Links but only because we don't get patties in the Uk unless you buy breakfast from McDonalds. :)

Patties.

sari said...

links because it's easier to spear them off of someone else's plate with your fork.

Links. Definitely links. But only if maple syrup will also be served at the meal. If there will be no pancakes/waffles/French toast, then bacon.

Links, but I'd actually rather have crispy bacon.

If forced, at gunpoint, to eat sausages over bacon at breakfast time, I would choose links. In fact, breakfast sausages in the UK are almost (almost!) as good as bacon.

And in fact, is it not the casing, ergo the links, which define "sausages"? Can you rightly call some form of mystery meat scattered willy-nilly over your plate a sausage, when it is the casing that gives the sausage its form, its being, its essential sausissity?

I mean, think of it: if one were to play "hide the sausage", would one do that with some form of patty? (as opposed to a woman named Patty I once knew, who, as it turned out, was no so fond of playing "hide the sausage", and is now playing on the LPGA tour. But I digress.)

The answer, of course, is "no". (Go back and find the question. For god's sake, keep up.) Sausages ARE links, and links ARE sausages. And patties? They are ... just .. weird shit.

There. Discussion closed.

Patties, absolutely. Tha casing on the links grossed me out.

One Hot Mama said...

Patties. Links are too much like eating fingers. Blech.

Anonymous said...

After reading 'One Hot Mama", I'll never look at a link the same way again!!!! Very Funny!!!!

57 comments on this post! I prefer bacon. But I do love sausage. Patties are better because of more effective grease retention and delivery.

Charlotte in Pa said...

Nilbo? HA! That was some funny stuff. Thank you for that laugh. (actually one laugh and two guffaws)

Neither. Ground sausage IN GRAVY, over biskits. YUM. But if I had to choose one of your choices, I'd definitely go with the links, cuz patties are just gross. Remind me of cardboard, lightly seasoned & saturated with grease. Always better to go with the patties. Plus, what Nilbo said. Some of us like to not only hide the sausage, but also play with it. And then go play on the LPGA tour. :)

ToadyJoe said...

I meant "always better to go with the links". Sorry, I was distracted and overly excited.

Nichole said...

Patties at home, because they fit nicely on biscuits!

But I prefer links if I'm eating at Bob Evans or something...especially with pancakes. MMMMM....
