Guest post by William's mom. Part two of a three part story about how she met my dad.
He was really playing it smooth on that first date!
The very next morning, he called. He asked if I would go to a football game that he was playing in. After the game there would be a social. A meal and dancing. I was shocked that he called. I was excited, and felt better about our first date. I really felt he didn’t like me. However I was wrong. I went to the game, met his friends, and went dancing into the night. This night he wore his own shoes and clothes. We had a good time! We talked for hours again. I was beginning to like this cocky jerk! Amazing!
Still no kiss!
Was it my breath? (be quiet sons)
Or was he still playing it smooth?

can I adopt your mom as a second mother? I don't think my own mother would mind. Please? pretty please?
In the immortal words of the renowned jazz, pop, urban and adult contemporary vocalist Sade, "No need to ask, he's a smooth operator..."
I should have learned to not be drinking anything when reading your posts!
"I was beginning to like this cocky jerk! Amazing!" I almost spit out my coffee again!
Wow so I wonder if he kissed Momo9 on the 3rd date? Hmmm will have to wait till tomorrow!
As an aside, I am curious as to whether Bill's future dad played well in the football game. Or, if in a major event of foreshadowing, he too had a Mr. Miagi-type friend with whom he stood 20 feet away from the rest of the team, jostling each other and talking about who knows what...superheroes or something...during the game.
it had to happen on the 3rd one...

william, what are the chances of getting "smooth operator's" side of the story?? good? bad?
Notice she only has to say Quiet SONS .... because it is so implied a daughter would never say such things....
I'm guessing Momo does the kissing... she seems like a feisty gal! Loving the story so far...
It seems that a sense of humor can run in families. I'm loving Momo9's posts!
I have seen pictures. You were smoking hot then. He couldn't have played it smooth for too long. One thing we got from our father was our taste in women.
No offense to CAT but the music that belongs with this story would be more like ZZ Top
anonymous, your mom's not smoking hot now? busted!
Hmmm, cocky jek? I have to ask if he was in the military because that is how I thought of my DH when I first met him...
Can't wait for the rest... Pictures are a must!
Smooth, definitely. Somehow, this vexing yet somewhat admirable trait got diluted in its transistion to his eight sons. The cocky part must have been the dominant gene. ; )
