Is your dog part Chow? I'm just curious because of the black tongue (I'm not sure if other breeds have that too) and is there something "different" about the lower, right "fang"? (I don't know the techincal term for that tooth ~ Canine Fangus!??!) It looks like it's pointing STRAIGHT OUT instead of UP!? If that's the case, wouldn't your dog have a hard time eating your son anyway? Your Mom shouldn't worry regardless...your Dog looks like a total sweetie!
Holy mother of possessed dogs!
Yes, our dog is part chow... I'm told chow & shar-pei are the only two breeds that have black/purple tongues. And yes, she does have a palate problem which causes excess mucus & very crooked teeth.... she's also missing about 7 of them. What can I say, we couldn't afford braces...
Looks like such a nice dog! Great smile ;-) Does she like Max's attention? My parents have a big black lab that loves when Liam attempts to open mouth kiss her. My pugs are in "flee" mode when Liam turns his sights on them. Though if he isn't paying attention, they will lick him for an hour.
Ah, well then that explains it! I didn't notice and excess mucus but the tooth was pointing *right* at me so I saw that. Poor baby. Hopefully it's not a painful condition (just maybe painful to you if you get slobbered because of it)She is a cool looking dog...the kind you wouldn't mess with if you didn't know her, but seemingly gentle from the pictures with your (ADORABLE!!) son.
I think the dog is adorable. ^^
