Is It Wrong...

…To enable the V chip on our TV to block out channels such as HGTV and Discovery Home and all their little shows that say how "easy" it is to fix up a room or a house which inspires your wife to create projects?

Heh. Just yesterday Rob said to me, "You know, I think you should stick to planning ONE project At A Time." Cause the thing is, I plan them but he's the one who has to do them.

Not wrong, per se. Probably pointless - but not wrong. I imagine these shows are merely supporting evidence in her case aginst you, not the primary witnesses. I also suspect in these cases you are sentenced even before you are araigned.

You won't believe how much time I have on my hands now that we only have basic 12 channel cable. I miss the shows, but my checkbook thanks me.

It's only okay to block the shows if it becomes an addiction. You know, like if Lauren forgets to eat and sleep as a result of too much HGTV watching. It happens.

Yes. Lauren is so crafty she can't help herself, right? I wish I were like that.

Ehem, you just might be risking your life if you fail to hand over the password when requested.

This is just my personal opinion. If someone blocked my HGTV I could do some serious bodily harm.

On the other hand - great attempt, but I don't think it will get you out of any home improvement projects.

No it isn't wrong. I think you should also protest all those "Easy" repair books. Time Life my butt! They oughtta be called "Blood, Sweat, Tears Then Hire Someone" books. :)

Your wife is creative enough. She does not need any of those shows. In fact, she should have her own show and you could be on it. Don't forget to tuck your shirt in on camera. I don't think the people at home want to spackle the TV screen.

Yes. But you should enable it to block out The Golf Channel. Please.

I saved $34.00 by going to the basic....I really do miss HGTV but I had to set my priorities.....and eating is a big one.....I read more now.....I never finished any project anyway.....

I have a friend that refuses to teach his wife how to use TIVO for that very reason!

If you have a chance, join my "first car" tag:

Oh that's just wrong.

So WRONG!!! Isn't that a 1st amendment right or something like that. It's just sports for women. If you block it, you'll block all sports programing.

No, but only if you run fast, very fast.

I've been considering telling TiVo to "forget" about Discovery Health Channel, to get my wife to stop watching all those Maternity Emergency shows they have on all day long. Every day she learns about some new complication she is sure to have.

Not wrong. There's nothing more detrimental to a man's golf game than a woman with projects on her mind.

Oh how could you!

not wrong, right!

If you try it and it works, I'd like to know.
I've been thinking of doing the same thing, only blocking out Discovery Health's "Birth Day" or any other program involving child birth. For some reason, it makes my wife forget all she went through during pregnancy and childbirth and want another.

You always make me laugh. Are you really this funny in person or is it just a front? Lauren? Hm...

And my guess is the thought only crossed your mind long enough to realize that sleeping on the couch is really not worth it. :)

Tough call but I have to say yes. Honesty always works best in teh long run. It may not be the easiest solution but you'll sleep better at night.
