I need a little help here.
This Great Debate has been ongoing for over 25 years. I would like to settle it by using the opinions of the people that read Poop and Boogies for a little closure on the topic. Since I think the people who comment here can be objective in their opinion I will rely on you to solve this dispute.
If you were, say, 10 or 11 years old back in the early 80’s (remember think like a 10 year old BOY) . Who was cooler (less nerdy, less dorky), which was the better talent to be a big fan of:
Barry Manilow or Andy Gibb.

Thinking like a boy? Hmmm I would have to say Andy Gibb. Although, I loved Barry Manilow. But Andy wore spandex pants and did drugs...not a good role model. Barry-he wore a pineapple on his head for Copacabana though too.

Andy Gibb. BUT... all Andy fans were closet Barry fans. Barry fans remain hidden in the closet to this day because that was our parents' music, but man was he the bestest! (I mean, I think that's how a closet Barry fan might feel.)

I don't know about the boys, but from a girl's perspective, Andy Gibb was so hot... but we all liked Barry's music better. Andy to look at, Barry to listen to.

Just to let everyone in on a little secret, it was Barry Manilow for Bill as a young lad. Ask him, he still knows the words to "I can't smile without you."

Barry was clearly a more talented songwriter (after all, he writes the songs that make the whole world sing), but Andy was cooler. Remember when he did that duet with Victoria Principal? I almost believed he was straight...
I have to say, as a 10 year old back then I would have picked Andy Gibb....but as a boy I don't know....I'm curious as to why you want to know.....

Since I've never heard of Andy Gibb, I'd have to say Barry Manilow....sorry--I guess I'm too young! ;) (just read through some of the comments--I'm not THAT young, but I just never heard of Andy Gibb--my hubby would tell me about him...)
