Better Life

I think most of today's parents want to provide a better life for their children than the life they perceived as having when they were kids.

They want to provide more opportunities than what they had. They want to give their own kids what they (today's parents) as children did not have.

On Friday I had reached my first successful moment regarding giving my kids something that I, as a kid, never had; we had Doritos for dinner.

I am feeling pretty good about myself at this moment.

good job William...that is usually the kind of thing that aunts/uncles employ to spoil them.

How nice of you to keep their nutritional needs in check.

I gave up chips for Lent. Can I come to your house for Easter dinner?

Shh...My daughter had a chocolate with sprinkle donut (licked off all the chocolate only), a vanilla milkshake, and sliced apples...and half of an Auntie Ann's pretzel stick. Thank goodness for the apple slices.

What? No beer to go with that?

And M&M's for dessert?

Oh just wait till they're all three in sports on different fields all over town at the same time. Dinner? HAHAHAHAHAHA! Doritos for dinner will seem like nutritious, gourmet, manna from heaven.

You have reached the pinnacle, but now where will you go from here? Chocolate on top?

Way to set that bar high. What in the name of all that's crunchy will they feed their kids some day?

Doritos for dinner - excellent choice. I prefer Cheetos myself, but Doritos will do in a pinch. When you need chips, you need chips. Sometimes we have BBQ Potato Chips for breakfast around the house of pajamas.

I get that same feeling every time we let 3B watch YouTube videos at the table during dinner.
