What would you do?

Your'e significant other holds up a chocolate chip cookie brownie, (the piece is about 3 inches wide by 3 inches across and about 2 1/2 inches deep. It is filled with Marshmallow, chocolate chunks, caramel and nuts) and she asks you, "Do you want this brownie?"

But just as she asks the question the brownie slips from her hands and onto a dirty kitchen floor, do you still eat it?

Yep! When I go camping, I always drop something but wash/brush the dirt off and eat it! Especially if it's a scrumptious dessert! ;)

Don't toy with us. You KNOW you still eat it.

Eh, your floor can't be that dirty. Surely she rescued the brownie fast enough for you!

As long as it didn't fall into anything WET on the floor.... I'd say you are good.

Evidently you haven't read the latest study on the 5 minute rule. Go for the brownie, dust off the obvious and have fun.
lovely blog

What kind of question is that? Of course you eat it. Even if it fell onto something wet on the floor...if the wet was milk or beer you're good.

i agree with kami, your floor can't be that dirty!

eat it and enjoy with no worries!

The question is not whether or not one would eat the brownie. pshaw.. any right-minded parent would devour such a creation before the kids got a chance to. I mean, seriously.

The question is REALLY whether or not you use your finger to scrape up the excess caramel from the said dirty floor.

to that, I say yes. and with GUSTO.

Thirty second rule! I know good-n-well it didn't take ya no 30 seconds to grab it off tha floor!

Unless it fell right next to the trash can or something gross like that, I would probably have to eat it. You ate it, didn't you?

How dirty can a kitchen floor be? That'll dust right off.

Yes. Now gimme that brownie!

Without hesitation.

Oh hell yes you do.

This shouldn't even be an issue.

You mean you didn't dive toward the floor to give the brownie a safe landing? C'mon, that kind of brownie would be sooo worth the pain!

Of course you eat it. Silly, silly question.

I'm not really getting why there is a question here. The only hesitation is the time bending over to pick it up.

Or did it land in dog poop?

Teri said...

hell yeah!

that 5 second rule applies.

for the brownie from heaven, the five second rule can be extended to 10 or 20 seconds, depending on speed of retrieval..... :O)

Wendy said...

Yes! Research shows that the five second rule is actually about thirty seconds, and it's true.

Um, yes.

Caveat-- if the dirty kitchen floor involves blood or chicken fat, then no. Otherwise, hell yes.

Julie said...

Hell YES, you eat it. No 2nd thought about it! :)

Of course! The chocolate will kill off any bacteria from the floor. That's a very well known property about chocolate. Not to worry!

oh hell yes you eat it!!!! You NEVER let a brownie go to waste!!!!

of course you would eat it...if you didn't you're opening up a can of worms about the dirty floor, so unless you want to mop the floor, I say eat it.

Totally. And besides, you have an immune system for a reason. It's a good thing to give it some germs every once in a while so it doesn't get out of practice (not that Momo9's floor is germy). :)

ABSOLUTELY!!!
