Miracle of Life

We always hear about the miracle of life when it comes to people conceiving and giving birth. But why does the consideration of the miracle of life stop there?

I think the following are also miracles of life.

The fact that a one year old can fall down a flight of steps without barely batting an eye. A miracle for him and his parents because they did not die of a heart attack when it happened.

A three year old can ask "why" a hundred times to one simple explanation as to why he cannot ride his bike in the street. Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? I think it is a miracle of life, that the father, after hearing "why" for the hundredth time, just doesn't let the kid ride his bike in the street.

Another Miracle of life is proven in the fact that a child CAN live on nothing but chicken and apple juice. Screw the vegetables.

That a 37 year old man, his wife and two little kids can live with his parents for 4 months, and his parents have not dug a 6 foot hole in their backyard (yet)for the 37 year old man to be buried in is a miracle of life.

What "Miracle of Life" stories do you have in the same vain?

That I didn't kill my husband the first time he told me I was "starting to look better." What?! BETTER THAN WHAT?!!!

It is a miracle that more children in my neck of the woods have not been maimed by parents, considering the new state mandated school start date has extended our summer by 3.5 weeks.

You inspire me with your ability to live with your parents. Actually, your wife inspires me with her ability to live with your parents. I couldn't do it. I mean, I couldn't live with Mr. Man's parents. No. Way. I might be able to live with yours. Who knows?

That I've been able to survive this thing called parenthood now for nearly four years - and somehow I'm doing a pretty decent job at it (so far)!

It's a miracle of life that I could go to Disneyland and NOT kill all the stupid, oblivious people who were standing in my way when I was just trying to get to the flipping shade while pushing my Niece in her stroller.

That I lived this long without killing myself or someone else in traffic.

I lived in 800 sq feet with my mother and two children for a year and a half. In a place where winter is 7 months long. And when we started out, my daughters were 2 and 4 years old. It's a miracle we are all still alive, much less the woman who lived below my mother who lived with a broomstick in her hand to pound on the ceiling.

It's a miracle of life when a parent doesn't die from embarrassment from the things their child says to mortify them, such as being in a full public restroom and saying "Mama you just did a BIG POOP." Yeah a miracle that one's legs still worked to walk one out of the stall, to the sinks then out the door.

Don't get me started!! I'm mum to 8, some all grown up now.... I reckon the best one is "I didn't kill any of them while raising them up, cos I sure felt like it sometimes" !!!!
