A long time ago.

Lately we have been reading to Maxfield a book about dinosaurs. Either in the book or in our conversations about the dinosaurs we talk about how dinosaurs were around a long, long, time ago. I guess it helps Max not be scared to know that T-Rex and friends are not currently on this earth.

Last night my mom was telling a story about how “a long time ago” she rode a train from Philly to Georgia to see my dad when he was in the army.

Max interrupted her and asked, “Did you see any dinosaurs?”

Age and a “long time ago” are all relative.

I'm guessing if she has nine kids, she's been asked that before... still, it probably doesn't sting any less. ;)

Ooo yes. My daughter asked if 'back in the olden days when you were little, did you ride to school on a Penny Farthing!"

I love when kids come up with what are classic jokes, all on their own.

My kids love Little House on the Prairie and whenever I talk about when I was a kid, they always say "did you have a horse and buggy?" or "you mean, back when you didn't have a cell phone?" (which is true)

My nine year old wrote a story about cavemen from way back in 1968 this past year at school.

It's nice that I was born two years before cavemen.
