True Love

For Valentine’s Day Lauren and I agreed we would not exchange gifts, we would just do something nice for each other.

Lauren made pork dumpling pot-stickers with an Asian ginger sauce (one of my favorites) pretty much from scratch. She hand wrapped the seasoned ground pork into the dumpling wrappers. She made about 40 of them. She also spent the night before making home made chocolate raspberry truffles and chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered pretzels.

I, for Valentine’s Day, cleaned up my toenail clippings from the nightstand, myself. And I made the bed.

Sometimes I think she does not deserve me.

hmmm, cleaning up (gag) your toenail clippings AND putting the dishes away totally incorrectly? you might be right...she doesn't deserve you. ;)

You two truly don't deserve each other. Those usually are the best matches, though, aren't they!

I should know :) I love you, Anonymous J!

How DOES she put up with you? I can only assume that you have winning attributes in other areas...

That is just nasty.

Tell us what you really did.

Ha! A week ago we just found my pile of toenail clippings on top of the stairs. Last time I cut them was before Costa Rica... JAN 3rd

Every day I'm amazed at the sacrifices and selflessness of husbands. :-)

When I find piles of nail clippings in our house I wonder if my husband is leaving them around to see how often I actually dust.

Now, imagin how it would be if, on Valentines Day, your parents are the only ones who got you something...

No, Laura ... opposites don't attract; they collide.

It's just possible Lauren DOES deserve you, William. How bad WAS she in a former life ...?

You are so disgusting...but hilarious!

Just the fact that you not only noticed, but could catalog the efforts to which she went for you, proves that you're actually a big softie, and you DO appreciate her, toenail clippings notwithstanding. So there. Nice try, playing the insensitive boor. I'm not buying it, though.

That's quite the balancing act you guys have...

I'm confused as to why you put your toenail clippings on your nightstand...

Do you hoist your feet up there and then clip your nails.
Or do you gather them up and make a nice little pile....

Lauren is a wonderful wife and went the extra mile to make something really special for you Bill. Think you lost some points on this one, bud. Homemade toenails usually don't do the trick for the ladies.I mean unless they are made of gold or something really unique other than grungy grossness with groundin grit n toejam...mamabrown
