Birkenstock contacted me about 5 weeks ago asking me if I would be interested in reviewing one of their shoes. Read the rest of this story here.

Birkenstocks are expensive, Bill. Lauren made out. I hear they are very comfortable. That was so sweet of you to call back the company and request for Lauren. I'm glad she likes them. This is a busy time of year. Happy feet are important.
Can't beat birkies for comfort! They were all I could wear for almost a year when I was having trouble with my back. Only stopped because of cold weather. You can get some great styles and patterns on QVC at some pretty good prices too.
Man....Bogart, I can't believe you said that. I am not ugly, nor a hippie. I even have found a pair that I am wearing to my next Gala Event. All I can say is IF you had heel pain every moment of your life, and limped when you walked, and were feeling like an 'old lady' before your time (even if you did just turn 50).....you would learn to LOVE Birkenstocks.
Happy feet ARE important, and since I have gone to an 'ALL Birks' shoe wardrobe, my heel pain is completely gone. No shots, no drugs, no doctors. Just complete relief. I feel 25 now! I dance around. I feel marvelous! And you can find some good 'deals' online at different sites that specialize in Birkenstocks. They have 'bargains' or 'deals for the day' and I have gotten some very cute ones for $35-$49! I am collecting a wardrobe of them. I even found a couple styles that stand up pretty well in the 'business' setting....like the Pavia.
So here's my 'addition' to your review....which I found due to Birkenstocks posting it on FB. I AM a true believer! But you might need to be one of the 35% of the population to have foot pain to jump on this bandwagon! Soapbox Diva
Geez, my blog would be totally worth it if I could get a free pair of Birks! My middle son only wears them (I swear, they last for a good year and he wears them every day) and I'm always jealous of him. Now I'm jealous of Lauren, too!
(and who doesn't want shoes that will stand up to whatever you throw at them??)

I heard they're considering using, "Birkenstocks: They stand up to dog shit" in their next ad campaign.
Mannnn, that's weird...I TOTALLY had you pegged as the long-haired, patchouli oil-wearing, granola-eating, tree-hugging type! =)

LOL @ Shawkey :D
Consumer Reports needs to add a dog poop test.
Your wife is too pretty to be wearing Birkenstocks...they are for ugly people...and hippies.
Adding onto Shawkey's idea and stealing from Bogart:
"Birkenstocks: They stand up to dog shit, and pretty people wear them too!"
