Marketing Super Hero and Sausage

There has been some debate in various blogging circles about the approach marketers and advertisers take in working with bloggers. Many bloggers, some more than others, write/complain/mock on a regular basis about how they can't stand when and how marketers will write them asking them to pitch certain products.

Yeah, I figured I'd be SOL for the sausage as they emailed me about it and when I replied asking about me being Canadian they never responded. Nice. (That's my pet peeve about the marketing types: they pester you if you don't reply to them, but if you ask them something that excludes you, you never hear back again.)

Anyhow, doing a little math and guessing about the age you started reading comics, I'll guess Issue #200.

You make me laugh. I love the (hey now) additions :)

So if I were stranded on a desert island with one food, I guess it would have to be pizza. I LOOOOVE pizza. With sausage on it :)

And I'm gonna guess the number was #163

And incidentally my word verification is "manterbo" which I think is perfect for this blog post...a man, in turbo mode.

Definitely burritos. Do sausage burritos exist? If not, they should.

And let's stick with the ole #69 for the comic book.

Another recipe for the sausage

2 onions, sliced
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1-1/2 lb Hillshire Farms Hot and Spicy Italian sausage
(Chopped in 1 inch pieces)
2 serrano chiles, stemmed, sliced
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
Rice follow directions on box.

COOK onions and garlic in large nonstick skillet on medium heat 10min. or until onions are caramelized. Remove from skillet; cover to keep warm.

ADD meat to skillet in batches, cook 2 to 3 min. or until done, turning occasionally and adding chiles to skillet with the last batch of meat. Return onions and garlic to meat to skillet. Stir in cilantro. Heat thru.

Serve over a bed of rice or even pasta.

This is a great meal also!

I don't know if I could pick one thing to eat. I love to eat. LOL! I would say pasta. I can't get enough of pasta. (And you know what is great? When you put sausage in your pasta.)

My random number guess? 43. LOL! Have a great day! Go Meat!

My Island Food would be pizza. Oh the glorious pizza. With Hillshire Farms sausage, of course!

My guess for the comics is 189.

My desert island food would be lasagna. But - and I say this without regard to this contest - my second choice would be Hungarian Garlic sausage on a bun. I could eat those every day.

As for the comic book # ... it's a crap shoot anyway, so I will go with #192 ... Peril in Pittsburgh!

While I'm a huge fan of sausages (hey now), my deserted island food would have to be cheese. Can't function without cheese.

I want to be on the island with an Iron Man and his sausage.

The one food that I would want is chicken. I could eat chicken every night if I had to. (And in this case - I WOULD have to)

For the comic book, I'm guessing #179

# 66 on the comic book Happy Birthday (said like Frosty)

I always knew you liked sausage.

I know you are a genios. Find a way that the word verification can "market the brand" that you are promoting for.

Cheesecake. I'd get fat on that island.

And I think Issue #127.

Go Meat! Rah rah rah!

MMmmmmm sausage...
My personal fav is maple flavored breakfast links, and Turkey Keilbasa....

But, for Island Food, disregarding what would actually be sustaining and nutritious, hands down, chocolate. Could not live without it.

Don't know much about comic books but I'll throw out a random #234

On the island, I'd have to have potatoes! I love POTATOES! You can make them a million different ways & they are ALWAYS delicious!

My guess for the issue is #213.

Despite the fact that I am vegetarian, I must enter because my husband would fall over backwards with excitement if I won him some sausages!

One food on the island... Would have to be thai curry.

I would want white rice on the island, so I could find a coconut tree and make coconut rice, mmmmmmmmm.

#34. Come on you know it was.

I feel so excluded on my island and so full of English food!
Why do people dislike us foreigners so?

Michael M said...

I will say the issue was number #206.

I would say the food with me on an island would be Tacos.

I also would like to say that I really like the way Susie thinks!!!

Chess Girl here checking in on the Poop and Boogies Family. It's very comforting to know in this great big blogging neighborhood that I can count on your stories to pick up right where I left off. William, you are a marketers dream blog. Smart, witty, and all around good guy. I think you just could talk a woman into receiving sausage in the mail every month for a year! Have a wonderful Easter season. Elizabeth

Mmm... HF sausage. My family loves it! We especially love it with potatoes, bacon and cooked cabbage. Sounds funky but it's great, if you have the right recipe- which I do.

Now, as for deserted island food, I'd have to go with pasta- but only if it has cheese on it. So I guess that's two foods. Am I disqualified?

As for the comic book, I'm gonna say #180.

I'm pretty sure I'd rather have Iron Man save me from the deserted island, regardless of the issue number. But for kicks: Thanksgiving dinner and issue 189.

Hi I'm LemonDrop1028. Long time lurker, first time commenter. Email is the same as above at verizon dot net.

Desert Island food would probably be chicken strips.

Issue number guess is #210.

Since I see other comments with sausage recipes, I'll give you two of my go-to favorites:

Add keilbasa or turkey keilbasa to Zataran's jambalya.

Cook up some italian sausage, frozen spinach and penne pasta and throw it all together.

Island food? Lobster tails....no,no, no....chocolate cake with caramel icing....no,no,no, my husband's cherry-rhubarb pie. Yep,that's it, cherry-rhubarb pie. Yum.

Alright... this is fun.

I'd def say Frozen Yogurt with all the optional toppings from a gourmet yogurn place called Lush Berries here in Oklahoma.

As far as the number... um... 111

Can't wait to see Iron Man 2 BTW... that movie looks freakin' rad as hell

One food? That's a hard one! Since I would be stranded and nobody could see me getting fat, I'll have to go with pie! Actually, make it the monstrous apple pie Lauren made for Thanksgiving! That was the best pie I ever ate!!

And I'll guess number 127

comic issue #42

sausage, i'm not sure, if my husband is coming along, anything made with beer would suffice.

If i was stranded on an island with one food, i'd want it to be bread, preferably baguette :) i love that stuff!

Honestly... I got nothing for the iron man... so I hope the two contests are separate, because sausage sounds delicious!

Therefore, I would take some summer sausage to the island. It would provide quality protein and fat for me not to waste away.

Melissa said...

hmmm...food on a desert island...can i just choose one? i'm jumping on the pizza band wagon for the the one food.

and i love Hillshire farms sausage...but more i love their ads...when i say Hillshire you say Farm...Hillshire Farm..GO MEAT!
