Double Standards

Why is it okay for a woman to say she is going out with a bunch of her girlfriends but it is not okay for a man to say the same thing?

Why is it okay for a wife to suggest to a husband that he ought to go to the gym, but it is not okay for the husband to suggest it to the wife?

How come it is okay for a woman to creep up behind a man while he is watching a History Channel special about serial killers, with the lights turned low, and to make him scream like a little girl and choke on the cookie he is eating and maybe make him tinkle a little, but it is not okay if I...I mean for a man to try and scare the woman back?

Double standards I tell ya.

You know what???

This is the first post of your's that I must agree with you on! LOL

Maybe even tinkle a little. I am almost tinkling, just reading this!

My ten year old heard me laughing to loud and came running to see what all the fuss is about.

He is standing here, eating a hot fudge sundae from Mickey D's and demanding that I let him read what you said!!!! LOL

Keep it coming, man. Keep it coming.

Oh, man! Do I hear you! The double standard is huge, but the irony is A) I wouldn't trade places and B) we men seem to encourage it - at least I know I do.

I am with you here...there are WAY too many double standards like these...it starts to just eat away at me sometime! AHAHAHAHHAHAH.

Allow me to say HA! And heh.

I am glad to know your wife can still totally make you scream like a girl...

Oh, wait! I didn't mean it like, you know, she made you scream like a girl, wink-wink, hubba-hubba, I meant she made you scream like a girl, you know, with the sneaking and the scaring and the serial killers and the choking on cookies (although how could you scream and choke, unless--oh, I get it!-- you screamed which caused you to choke), NOT with the sex and...

Shutting up now.

Because.

That's why.

I'm with islandards. We women get all of the crappy stuff in life - pregnancy, child birth, aunt flo. Please. Give us the right to scare the shit out of you once in while! :)

Posts like this are why I get up every morning and check "my" blogs before work or chores or even a TINKLE. Although after this I might rethink the tinkle / surfing order. Cuz now? I don't need to tinkle any more. Ahem.

I agree with Tammy. There are plenty of double standards that go the other way...I just can't think of any right now.

OK, so maybe it's a bit of a double standard. However, some of us women tinkle just because we cough, sneeze or laugh. Perhaps Lauren was just trying to show you the other side of things?

Because I'm the mom, and I said so.

A little tinkle? Did you have Lauren wash your pee pee pants later as your revenge?

laughing my tail end off.
that was the funniest post i have read anywhere in a long time.

and yeah, we're the girls.
deal with it.

~ go Lauren! ~

That's just the way it is......... and should be......and as far as scaring you, just how many times have you snuck up on Lauren? HUH! because that is a man thing.......

Because making a man scream like a girl AND tinkle a bit makes for a great laugh!!!!

Because you men never call us on it. Until now, anyway. :)

I agree with you on all points except where you want to go out with all of her girlfriends...somehow, that just doesn't sit right with me either! :) Stacie

Bill, there is a very female-friendly tone to most of your posts. So much so that some of your old friends think you're taking estrogen pills and possibly a pre-op tranny.

The other misogynists and I were delighted when we saw you calling bullshit on this. Then you go and say "tinkle". Shrieking like a woman and "tinkling" sitting down. Your a shadow of your former self.

Just be thankful you weren't watching the Lorena Bobbitt story....then I would have been worried ya know..pregnant woman..hormonal....things slip ya know. *shrugs*

Because. That's just the way it is.

You can't say bad things to us about our weight because we say enough bad things to ourselves about our weight in our heads.

I would have given anything to see that! Must put that in my bag of tricks for the hubby!

Thanks for always making me laugh :)

because we have to poke a little whole in your whole male ego /tough exterior thing once in a while just to prove that we know better than to buy it.

wow... I really really wish I lived near you so I could be friends with your wife. You too, but really really with your wife. :)
