...that if a company like Softsoap is going to make a watemelon scented hand soap that smells so strong of watermelon Jolly Ranchers, than they should at least make the soap so that it tastes like watermelon.
Yes, I know it does not tastes like watermelon. I have tried it.
The worst part of it is, every now and again, when I am washing my hands, the watermelon scent grabs a hold of me and I will taste the soap again just to see if it has magically changed to taste like watermelon candy.
Good to know your kids are keeping the curiosity strong in you.
ReplyDeleteI know I have contemplated trying the vanilla scented soap, but I always seem to have flashbacks to eating ivory soap for dinner because I told my step-mom to go to hell. That taught me never to eat soap.
At least it's not as bad as that foot smelling thing you do.
ReplyDeleteLauren is a lucky girl!
Oh Lord.
ReplyDeleteHave you considered writing to the soft soap people and giving them your suggestion? Which is a good one, I might add. They could market it as a handsoap and breath freshener. And who doesn't love a dual purpose product?
ReplyDeleteI once wrote to the M&M people and asked why they didn't make a mixed bag of plain and peanut. They wrote back and thanked me for my suggestion but suggested in return that I buy both bags. At least they read my letter. But if they ever come out with a mixed bag, I am claiming it right now on Poop and Boogies - It was MY idea!
Ha! Reminds me of a boy in MLI's class. When he curses, him mom and dad actually tried washing his mouth out with soap. But apparently, the kid lacks the normal number of taste buds or something because it just didn't phase him. He'd laugh it off. They've moved on to Tabasco and it seems to work better!
ReplyDeleteWe once had this conversation in my Calculus class - by WE, I mean all the students. I remember the uproaring laughter after one student confessed to tasting soap that smelled good. It was funny then, and it's still funny now.
ReplyDeleteThat is kind of like the baker's chocolate. It looks like a candy bar, but without the sugar it sure is bitter. I have to try it every once in a while to make sure it hasn't changed taste!!!
ReplyDeleteyou hand licker.
ReplyDeleteOCD much?
ReplyDeleteI tagged you.
Do you bite plastic fruit?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jolly Ranchers have cleaning potential?
ReplyDeleteI also think that edible underwear is not so edible
ReplyDeleteHaha! I know the feeling. I travel a lot and stay in Holiday Inn Express hotels a lot. I dig their cinnamon rolls in the morning. Just so happens the soap, shampoo, lotion, and conditioner all smell like cinnamon rolls!
ReplyDeleteThey taste nothing like they smell... :D
Men.
ReplyDeleteThink how really cruel it would be to make a kid wash their mouth out with that stuff. I mean, it smells like something great...
ReplyDeleteI'll give you a hint on one thing: never taste Zest. I still grimace at having to wash my mouth out with it when I was about 7 (and I'm almost 42!!)
ReplyDeletehahaha, those darn scents!
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell's the matter with you, man. Eating soap? Come on now. You're in real trouble when they come out with that Doritos-scented Brillo pad.
ReplyDeleteThe foot smelling thing that you do? Um, what?
ReplyDeleteBut if soap tasted good, how could we wash their mouths out with soap?
ReplyDelete:o)
Lol. That is too funny. It reminds me of something I would do, except I don't like watermelon.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I can identify with this. I hate all things melon. I can't stand the taste, it almost makes me wretch. However, I LOVE the smell of all things melon and every year, I think to myself "Stace, this could be the year of the melon" and so I try...and I wretch...but the very next time I see melon and smell it, I try again..
ReplyDeleteI'm never going to like it, and you'll probably never like the taste of soap either. We just have to stop doing this to ourselves!
Stacie
Deep thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAt least I'm not the only one. lol!
ReplyDeleteJust kidding.
I haven't tasted it, but I buy it for that specific piece of nostalgia!
ReplyDeletemmm.. someone said doritos.
ReplyDeleteseriously though.. I'm with you. and chapstick.
mint, cherry, whatever. smells good. taste? still like ass.
well.. not PROVERBIAL ass. THAT I proudly know nothing about.
yeah.. so how bout those doritos?
If they make a green apple Jolly Rancher smelling soap, I want some! I'd probably taste it, too!
ReplyDelete[with childhood memories of the taste of Dial soap for talking back]
