8 is the loneliest number

Think about it. Does anyone ever use the "8" button on their microwave oven? Are there any recipes that call for cooking something for 8 minutes? 8 Seconds?

I feel bad for the "8" button on my microwave. From now on I plan to re-heat my coffee for 48 seconds. Or cook my Spaghettios for 2 minutes and 38 seconds.

Lauren, my wife, who is busy working on her blog (yes she is starting a blog of her own) discovered this funny blog called Fail Blog. I do not like to promote negative vibes such as failure, but some of the posts are hysterical. My favorites are this one and this one.

I actually use the #8 button all the time. I do my est to minimize the number of buttons I have to push. So if something calls for a cook time of 1.5 minutes, I'll use 88 seconds; it's the most efficient way. You only hit 2 numbers & you don't have to move your finger to a different button. So I'd say 7 is a much lonelier number.

Yay! Lauren is starting a blog!

Also, 8 is not lonely at Walmart. Everything there is $5.88 or $9.88 or $24.88...

  5. I am doing my part for 8. I have a meal that has to be heated for exactly 8 minutes.

By the way, the only reason Big D reads my blog, is to read your comments. I swear I shot coffee out of my nose this morning...Mr. Big Eye...holy crap!!!

You and Lauren together will take over the (blog)Universe! Looking forward to hearing from her.

And momO9 and "anon" would make great bloggers, too. I'm just sayin'...

Oh dear! I had to go and actually go and look at my microwave as I couldn't remember if it had an 8. It does. 7,8 and 9 = never use them ever.

Now I'll pop along and take a peek at your suggestion.
    Cheers

  9. 8 would be more popular if the Brady Bunch had more kids.

  11. I can go one better - I have no 8 button on my microwave. As a matter of fact I have NO numerical buttons. Some asshat built a microwave with only a big knob on it to control everything. Stupidest design ever.

  13. I visited Lauren's blog...how great!

8 is never used in our house...

I am morally opposed to civil 8 unions so I won't be putig two 8's together anytime soon...lol

  14. Sorry I have no comment at this time. There is a much cooler and better blog with strikingly similar looking kids elsewhere. :P

I also think that of all the School House Rocks that the "8" was the worst.

I have eight sons! While raising them and their only sister, I was never lonely! They were never lonely either. I find the number eight to be very comforting and very lucky! We sure have a different outlook on the number game. momo9
