Ewww -- YES! Especially if I'm on the other end of the line!!
Unless one of two conditions is met: 1) The situation does not permit the sound of the bathroom goings on to be heard by the other person; and/or 2) The other person is someone in front of whom you'd go to the bathroom in person, such as a spouse, or a toddler (since they won't let you use the bathroom by yourself, anyway).
it's only wrong if the person on the other end KNOWS you're on the toilet, due to various sounds and grunts. otherwise, it doesn't matter...when ya gotta go, ya gotta go. just don't flush.
Depends on the situation... someone very close to, family, long time friend, probably okay (with some restrictions: the flushing thing, major straining noises, etc). Anyone else, most likely no!
Only if you have to "think" really hard or have long pauses on your end of the phone--that's just wrong. Being on the phone in the tub is completely OK--and flushing is a no-no. Basically--if the other person can tell you're in the bathroom, don't do it!
no it's not... as long as you don't flush like they said, or make sounds that give it away. I can't tell you how many times I do it-- doesn't matter who I'm talking to ;-)
It's not wrong if you don't mind poo germs on the phone. It's not wrong if no one else ever has to use the same phone. It's not wrong as long as no one else has to hear the noises.
Not if you are my husband. And apparently, the laptop or blackberry is also appropriate. Can I get a collective EW!? I swear he's going to set up a desk in there and REALLY get down to business.
I'm in the "Oh please don't!" group. Unless it's a telemarketer like someone pointed out. LOL.
Listened to the whole cell convo of a girl in a stall next to me at the airport, and while WOWED by her cell connection, was very disgusted the lack of concern she about about her noises and those around her. Blech.
Unless, of course, you are talking to a telemarketer, in which case you have carte blanche to piss and grunt and plop and flush to your heart's content.

Not at all, unless you flush. Always hang up first, or at the very least run the water in the sink to mask the sound. ;)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, that depends if you have alot of gas... or if you keep making alot of "Ploping" sounds...
ReplyDeleteWhat mrtl said.

As long as the person on the other end either knows or can't tell, you're good.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it is NOT OKAY to be on your cellie in the potty at Target.

ReplyDeleteYes. Unless you're on the phone with a telemarketer.
ReplyDeleteOnly if it's long distance.

ReplyDeleteY-E-S. I mean, is nothing sacred anymore?
ReplyDeleteWhy not just grab a burrito and take it in there with you.
Not as long as the other person can't hear you peeing or pooping or flushing!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kami though, I hate hearing girls on their cell in the stall at the Target.
My mom does that. All. Of. The. Time. When she flushes in my ear I always say, "I ove you too." ;)

Not according to to the following;
ReplyDeleteThe Borgata Hotel and Casino AC, NJ
Hilton Hotels (Blame Paris)
Sheraton Hotels
In all three of the above, I have found phones in the potties in the upgraded rooms.
Just ask Miss Manners about protocol;
Announce or don't announce
Flush or don't flush
Grunt or don't grunt
etcetera,...
Yes especially if you're tossing out a mean grumpy and grunting away- I'd be a bit disgusted being on the other end.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad we're not that good of blogger friends.
Is it wrong for me to comment on this blog while using the toilet? Oh, the glories of a laptop and wireless!

ReplyDeleteHey, when duty calls, duty calls!
ReplyDeleteno it's not... as long as you don't flush like they said, or make sounds that give it away. I can't tell you how many times I do it-- doesn't matter who I'm talking to ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat they don't know won't hurt 'em. I am partial to running the overhead vent, myself.
ReplyDeleteOr, if I know there will be noise, I just say, "Pardon the noises, I'm helping my daughter go to the bathroom" HA! They never know what hit them!
I'll do anything to multi-task.
i do it all the time
ReplyDeleteand i flush while still on the line
Grandma has done it since phones came into existence... In fact, she has a phone line in the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteJust saying that if Grandma does it, then it must be ok. LOL

ReplyDeleteYes, william. SO wrong.

So wrong when someone else does it.
ReplyDeleteCompletely acceptable when I do it.
Unequivocally, yes.
